I’m an entrepreneur who loves to build things on the web. I am also a husband, father, and a Star Wars fanatic. I currently work for FamilySearch as a manager of a team of engineers and systems administrators.
I began blogging in 2005 as a way of sharing my ideas. About that time I was hired on at Provo Labs, which was an Internet business incubator. I worked on a lot of research and development projects before leaving to venture into a few other start-up companies. My most recent venture was a web consulting business in which we built various applications in Ruby on Rails and PHP. I’ve become very involved in the genealogy software space as I helped to develop FamilyInHistory.com (retired) and USFamilyTree.com.
I work on a Ruby library that wraps the new FamilySearch API. The project is named ruby-fs-stack and is located out on Github.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two little boys and a little girl. My wife has been the blessing of my life. She has always been very supportive of all the things that I do. She’s a ton of fun to be with and we never get tired of being together.
